Child's Play OCT R1 Prologue: Vs Miles Archer
Jay scanned the camp warily again once she was left in peace, cataloguing the various people (and that was a stretch) around the fire, and dismissing those she doubted would be immediately dangerous, and taking note of those who concerned her. (And if seemed like half of the people here were just children). Satisfied that she was at least relatively unobserved (she could feel eyes, she just couldn't figure out who they belonged to), she slid away from the fire, towards the trees, (after some debate, she'd made the decision that it was probably safer staying off the ground and out of the way, even if that afurisit monkey kept following her).

AA's V-Day Challenge 2013: I Ship It
Jay wasn't entirely sure how she'd been drawn into this conversation, but she had been. So here she was, sat at the edge of the party trying not to think about the fact that her fiancé had dumped her (admittedly with rather excellent results) and the fact that Dmitri had been sent to one of the field offices to fix a computer glitch that was jeopard

Jay exhaled and relaxed further into her position, eye glued to her scope. She'd been on this ridge for five days now, waiting for the perfect moment to take her shot. The sun was low in the sky, bathing the forest around her and her target in a golden light. She'd always loved sunsets, but she had no time to appreciate it now. Tonight was the night – of that she was certain, the conditions were as close to perfect as she was going to get (not that she couldn't make the shot in adverse conditions, but why take it when you could wait for the perfect moment?).
Her mark came out, blissfully unaware of the danger that awaited him &ndas

How Not To Save the World
When you got right down to it, I didn't actually have the first real clue what to do. After all, everyone knows what's supposed to happen. A girl (or guy) gets thrown into a fantastical world in jeopardy. Said girl (or guy) is expected to save said world. That's what all the stories tell us, right?
That I think I could've done. That in theory is simple.
But no, it couldn't have been that easy for me. Instead, I got a very polite, but very firm refusal of my services.
Maybe I should go back a couple of paces and start at the beginning.
